Speaking of creativity, we asked Peyton Hemann, 13, a NAAF Legislative Mentor and gifted artist, to design a new Tortoise & Hair™ logo for this campaign — and did she deliver! Her new logo (above) will be emblazoned upon hats we will be sending to every community member who holds a fundraiser as part of this campaign. These sleek black baseball caps with the new logo will spread awareness and tell your community that you are raising funds for an important cause.

What the guys at NAAF are talking about here is the special logo for the Around the World in 80 Ways campaign, a way for people around the world to support NAAF by completing 25,000 miles of activity: roughly the circumference of the Earth! Now you can see where the idea got its name.
Two months ago, the NAAF communication director asked me to create a new logo for the Tortoise & Hair walk. I had a *bit* of experience, since I had made a snowman logo you might’ve seen on our Holiday Ask email.

After two or three weeks, the NAAF technical staff and I had a perfect logo ready to be put on hats; if you create a fundraising team, you’ll be getting one of them!
I’m proud that my logo is the face of a new, innovative way to help NAAF spread alopecia awareness and I’m looking forward to see what this year’s virtual conference will have in store. For more info on the 2021 NAAF conference, check out their website here. I’ll keep you posted!
